We often get asked a few questions by prospective clients. These questions start off, but are not limited to the following
-What is black hat SEO
-What are some examples of black hat SEO tools.
Well, to put it mildly, black hat seo involves something called web spam. Webspam, is essentially a form of polluting the internet, by publishing and submitting garbage, with the purpose of getting backlinks. While publishing content that adds value to the internet is acceptable, and not really considered webspam – if you are submitting duplicate content, or content that makes no sense, is “spun,” etc, then this is web spam. Bottom line, it’s an attempt to trick search engines to get credit for work that isn’t worth any, “credit.”
Tools like Xrumer, Scrapebox, No Hands SEO, and others, are designed to submit such garbage content with links in them. Such tools, like Xrumer, are able to bypass security measures, like Recaptcha, and penetrate forums, blogs, and other platforms. As of November 2012, tools like Xrumer have been able to successfully defeat Recaptcha, resulting in an excess of webspam.
Such tools can be unethical, depending on the means they are used. For most novice webmasters and SEO service providers, they are tools which should be avoided.
